Reading a Flute Fingering Chart

Fingering charts help flutists know what fingers to place down to create different pitches. All Flute fingering charts look similar; Here is what ours look like:

C Note: Press down your Index finger in your left hand and your pinkey in your right hand

Solid cirlces represent keys that are pressed down and hollow circles are keys that are raised. This corresponds with the flute example from the last page:

Finger Placement

To play the Middle Octave C You will press down your first finger in you left hand and your pinkey in the right hand.
