Josquin wrote many pieces where he credited them to more famous composers. This way people could hear his work. At this time most people just went by their first name and there last name was usually where they were from. Josquin was a student of Ockghem; we know this because Josquin composed a piece to be played at Ochgem's funeral. He takes interest in word rhythum and uses four single voices and are all equal to each other.
