The Piano Industry

September 5th, 2003

During my History of Music class this morning, my professor, Dr. Joanthan Bellman mentioned an interesting fact that I thought I should share.

At a music store that sells pianos, the salesperson will try to pitch the pianos they have by explaining all of the new features they have. If the salesperson thinks that the individual can play the piano, then the salesperson knows that there is no way you can afford one of these pianos.

Rich people who can't play virtuosi piano are the people who will buy the high end pianos.
