You know that you have sticky pads when you press down a key and you hear a sound like a kiss. This problem happens with all flutes and can be distracting to you and others you play around.
The easiest way to get rid of sticky pads is to use cigarette paper. Put the paper between the pad and the flute, press down on the key and pull out the paper. Before I turned 18, I couldn't buy cigarette paper legally so I had to find alternate ways of cleaning my pads. American currency works as a good substitute to clean your pads, I am not sure if other currency works. Make sure the currency is new and clean as it can be, money that has been exchanged a lot and is very dirty.
Do not use paper such as sheet music or printer paper because it will damage your pads.
