How to use the Tuning Tone CD

First, make sure your A (or whatever pitch you tune to in your ensemble) is in tune. Then pick a pitch that you think needs tuning and put it on that pitch. Play the notes around it as well.

When playing the track pitch, make sure you can't hear any waves. When you are sharp, or flat you will hear the sound waves clashing.

For example, If I wanted to practice getting my C# in tune, I would put my tuning tone CD on track 12 and play:

Quarter Notes : C#, B, C#, Db, C#

You will notice that the B and the Db will sound very dissonant. This does not have to be played in tempo, make sure each time you return to C# that you are in tune. Practice this will all pitches on the CD.
